Abstract:
New Results from KTeV on Time Reversal Violation
In the almost 40 years since the discovery of CP violation
in kaon decays, the origin of CP violation has remained
elusive. In addition, the relationship of CP violation
to time reversal violation has been indirect, depending on
use of the CPT theorem. The KTeV experiment with much
enhanced sensitivity has continued the measurement of
epsilon prime begun by earlier experiments. In addition,
because of its increased sensitivity, it has been able to
look for time reversal violation in new, previously
undetected modes such as K0L->pi+pi-e+e-. We report on
the status of the epsilon prime measurement and on
observation of a new CP violation effect, one which is
explictly time reversal violating.
