A Heterotic Standard Model

Abstract
Our group recently succeeded in constructing a string theory
compactification that only has the MSSM matter content. I am going to
give an overview over our construction and show how we evade
anti-families and exotic particles that often plague string theory
phenomenology. My talk will be as self-contained as possible and does
not assume prior knowledge of string theory.
