Abstract:
Observation of B --> Pseudo-scalar and vector meson Decays at CLEO
Charmless hadronic decays of B meson into final state containing a
pseudo-scalar and a vector meson (PiRho, KRho, PiK* and KK* etc) are
very important for CP violation studies. For example, B0 --> Pi+-Rho-+
and Pi0Rho0 can be used to measure the angle alpha of the unitarity
triangle of the Standard Model. B+- --> Pi+-Rho0 decay mode can be
used to measure the angle gamma. I will present preliminary results
which include the first observation of B+- --> Pi+-Rho0 and B0 -->
Pi+-Rho-+. These are the first hadronic b --> u transitions ever
observed. These results are based on data collected with the CLEO
detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR).
