-Filter_cap_noise_Clock/Rate.gif (March 16, 2004) the first production version of AR1FL showed some clock noise when it was installed on the module. We removed the capacitors from around position 8 (where the noise was) and also removed the capacitors above positions 1 and 2 because they were exactly opposite position 8's nais connector. The noise went away and so we slowly replaced the capacitors until the noise came back. The capacitors surrounding the position 8 DTMROC can be removed and replaced with no effect, as can the ones above position 1's DTMROC, but it is only when you replace the filter capacitors above position 2's DTMROC that the noise comes back. we will be doing further tests to see if we can possibly narrow this down to only one or two offending filter caps (out of 5), or if they are all contributing equally to the noise.
