1 recipe pie crust 1 tsp cinnamon 6-7 tart, firm apples 1 dash nutmeg 3/4 cup sugar 1 dash salt 2 tbsp flour 2 tbsp butter
Prepare pie crust and place bottom crust in pie pan. Peel, core, and chop apples. In a large bowl, toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Pour mixture, including liquid, into bottom crust. Cut butter into small pieces and sprinkle over filling. Roll out top crust and place over filling. Crimp edges and cut a few slits in top crust to allow steam to escape. Wrap edges in foil. Bake at 400 F for 40 min. Remove foil edges. Bake 10 more min.
REMEMBER: CUT HOLES IN CRUST! AND USE DRIP TRAY BENEATH PIE PAN.
