TRT Barrel Alignment With 2008 Cosmic Data
TRT Alignment Wrt InDetCosmic_2008_05
The original Si alignment was done in Nov 2008 and was given the tag InDetCosmic_2008_03.
This tag was used to produce the approved ID Alignment plots, and was used in 1st and 2nd reprocessing.
Following this the Si alignment they added more data without Bfield and found poor results.
Next the strategy was chosen to align the Si with ONLY Boff data, the results id InDetCosmic_2008_05.
This alignmet is the "most trusted" Si alignment, although InDetCosmic_2008_03 preforms better for Bon data.

TRT L2 A/C Side differences
The L2 alignment does not fully resolve A/C differences.
Have run the alignment A and C only and have gotten differenct constants.
Need to evaluate the difference in using one alignment for both A and C vs seperate alignments.
Investigation here.

TRT L2 Alignment from M8 Cosmics
After the L1 alignment was settled the TRT alignment focus moved to the L2
In the mean time there was an attempt at updating the Si constants as dicsussed above.
The L2 alignment was done in various different ways, for the cosmic analysis it was decided to use the L2 alignment in 5 Dof using combied tracks from wrt Si alignment from the first reprocessign.
More L2 information here.

The curious case of the Phi Structure

Understanding L1 TRT Barrel Alignment and the "Lorenz angle saga"
After the initial L1 TRT alignment the plan was to understand the L1 barrel alignment.
This initially lead to problems in the B field on vs off data that was due to incorrect handle of the lorenz angle
Details here.

Initial TRT Alignment in M8 Cosmics
Initial TRT L1 alignment in M8 was done with run 90275.
This run was chosen for: large statistics (76,000 events), B-field on, Xe gas, off-the-record approval from hw experts.
Aligned the TRT Barrel in 5 DoF, and the TRT endcaps in 6 DoF.
